About the Author

Sami Khoury was born and raised in Jerusalem and has dedicated more than twenty-five years to the Holy Land’s tourism and pilgrimage industry. Since 1998 he has worked as a tour operator, organizing and managing journeys for thousands of travelers from around the world. Much of his career has focused on Latter-day Saint groups, allowing him to understand their interests, questions, and the scriptural connections that make a visit to the Holy Land especially meaningful.
In addition to his decades as a tour operator, Sami has spent the past several years guiding tours himself. This blend of professional expertise and on-the-ground experience gives him a unique perspective on the land of the Bible. As a Christian from Jerusalem, he brings local heritage, scriptural familiarity, and a deep love for the Savior’s homeland to everything he does.
Walking With the Savior reflects this lifelong experience: a companion created to help readers see the Holy Land with clarity, devotion, and the personal touch of someone who has walked its paths for decades.
a message from the author
Dear Friends,
It has been one of the great blessings of my life to welcome Latter-day Saint travelers to this sacred land. Each group brings something unique: faith, curiosity, reverence, and kindness. I am always moved by the genuine devotion that LDS visitors bring with them. Your desire to walk where Jesus walked, to understand His ministry more deeply, and to feel His presence in these ancient places inspires me every single time.
As a tour guide who was born and raised in Jerusalem, I have walked these paths countless times, yet they remain new with every visitor because each person’s journey is different. My greatest joy is seeing your eyes light up at the Sea of Galilee, hearing your quiet reverence in Gethsemane, or watching you pause in Bethlehem as the story of the Nativity becomes more than words on a page.
This book is my gift to you, an attempt to preserve the spirit of your pilgrimage. Through these photographs and reflections, I hope the Holy Land continues to speak to your heart long after you return home. May the peace of Galilee, the tenderness of Bethlehem, and the awe of Jerusalem stay with you and strengthen your testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.
I pray these pages help you remember not just where you walked, but what you felt.
With warm regards and deep respect,
Sami Khoury, Jerusalem
